If you are wishing to undertake an undergraduate program you must be able to provide evidence that you have the skills for tertiary study. Results from your previous study is usually a good indicator, hence most school leavers are admitted based on their Universities Admission Index (UAI) score. More information on the UAI can be found on the Universities Admission Centre website.
You can get an indication of whether your UAI score is sufficient to get into the Macquarie course you want by visiting our Degrees and UAIs page. This page lists the Undergraduate degrees offered by the University with the UAI which was required last year for successful entry. The Universities Admission Centre also provides lists of degrees and the likely UAI required. In addition there is a search option on UAIs which allows you check which degree you are likely to be successful in your application.
If you are not a school leaver, or a recent school leaver, and do not have a UAI, then there are alternative pathways to enter Macquarie University. If you are over 21 and have not previously studied at University the Jubilee Scheme for mature age applicants should be considered.
If you have a UAI, or are working towards one, but feel that the UAI will be inadequate to get into the course you desire, there a still some options available. Alternative pathways using SIBT, TAFE, Open Universities Australia and non-award study are just some of the options that you should investigate. Maybe you can get into a similar degree and transfer later.
If you need further information, why not download the University’s Pathways brochure, contact our Student Recruitment, put a question on the Bulletin Board or download our coursework booklets.
